BIO

Gretchen received her Masters of Science in Nursing from Holy Names University, Oakland, California: Magna cum-laude. She completed her clinical studies at Highland Hospital/Obstetrics and Gynecology, Orthopedics with AJ Benham FNP/ Dr. J. Warbritton, Pediatrics at Oakland Pediatrics and Behavioral Medicine with Dr. B. Blaisch. She is board certified through The American Nurses Credentialing Center and is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American College of Nurse Practitioners. Gretchen is certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

Gretchen began her nursing career in 1988 as a nurses’s aide while pursuing a Bachelors Degree of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau, International Honor Society of Nursing in 2007 for her academic and leadership achievements.

Throughout her career as a nurse, especially in her role as a nurse practitioner, Gretchen has witnessed the need for knowledge and disease prevention. She is interested in empowering parents, children, and teenagers with improved education. She has experience with contraception, adolescent health, nutrition and weight maintenance, physical exams, orthopedic injuries, cardiac abnormalities, respiratory illness, behavioral problems, and endocrinology.

Gretchen is happily married with a 10 year old daughter and several 4-legged creatures. She lives in Berkeley, California.
