Approach

One word sums up Dr. Blaisch’s approach: Partnership. Dr. Blaisch does not simply examine the patient and write a prescription. He works with you and your child to find the best treatment, even for problems that other doctors may have missed.

When you and your child come in for a visit, Dr. Blaisch will listen to your questions and concerns. He will observe your child closely and include him or her in the conversation if appropriate. Then, he will examine your child thoroughly and explain fully his findings and diagnostic impressions. Finally, he will provide you with diagnostic and treatment options and will include you in the process of coming up with a sensible treatment plan.

If hospitalization, emergency care, diagnostic tests, or specialty referrals are needed, he and his staff will help to arrange them. If special services are available or required, he and his staff will advocate for you and help you understand the process so that, ultimately, you will feel empowered to advocate for yourself and your family. Additionally, if appropriate, he will give you written information to share with specialists, hospital staff, or school officials. His staff will offer to you and encourage you to keep copies of your child’s results and records so that you stay informed and up-to-date, as well as to become empowered to manage your child’s health care needs and experience. Finally, he will follow up with you by phone or appointment and will make himself available to you and your child’s specialists in order to make sure that your child gets the best treatment, as well as to ensure that you stay informed and that your needs are being met.
